Welcome to the Carolina Copperheads !
Come and see why the Copperheads are the best league for your child and family to participate in. We are not like
other youth football and cheerleading leagues. Our program is tailored to the abilities and needs of the participants,
not the needs of over zealous coaches, parents, or otherwise. We create a positive atmosphere for our kids to learn
the game and develop a fondness for the sport.
What Makes Us Better For Your Family?
One simple registration fee.
No extra association fees, no equipment deposits, no membership fees, no required equipment purchases,
no madatory volunteer hours, no report cards, no player drafts, no registration red tape, etc.
Limited Travel.
All our games are played at a few local fields, same for practices, No out of county travel or long drives!
We provide exceptional uniforms and equipment.
Top of the line uniforms, jerseys, helmets, and field equipment. Our kids look the best on the field and are the safest.
We practice only two nights a week, 6-8pm for tackle, and an hour and a half for flag and cheerleading.
We have skilled, experienced coaches who attend clinics to effectively run practices and games. We make sure
our practice schedule allows kids to stay focused on their school work too. Flexibility is important in youth sports.
Our ESR (Everybody Starts Rule).
We require that all players start every game, every week. All players are required to start on either offense or defense
and play the whole first half of the game. The second half of the game is coaches decision. Most other leagues only
require a child plays at least 6 plays a game. What fun is that? In the Copperheads all start, play, learn and enjoy it!
Our S.C.O.R.E Policy
We expect every coach, parent, spectator, and player to display excellent sportsmanship, character, organization,
respect, and encouragement at all times to all players coaches, teams, and referees. If you do not wish to follow
the SCORE policy, we request you play somewhere else, thank you.
This year we will have a new Tackle Age & Weight rules... Here's why.
In the past few years we have had numerous request to expand the tackle program to accommodate the players who overlap the 6th grade middle school <no play rule> and various schools that do not have middle school football programs. By dropping the few 9 year olds from tackle eligibility, and adding the older lighter 13 year olds, we can expand the tackle program for rising 11 and 12 year olds, and place 13 year olds who are without a place to play. Historically, the tackle age/weights have been mostly 11 year olds with an average weight of 98 lbs per team. We find this change will be a benefit to the child participants. And provide them one more season of Copperheads Football!

Please be aware we do not accept requests for
team assignments, practice locations, or times.
If you have multiple children in the league, and in
different age programs they may not be able to
practice on the same night or location. We make
every effort to provide the easiest schedule for
your family, but unfortunately cannot meet the
needs of over 800+ family schedules. We do put
siblings of the same age division/program on the
same team. Cheer Squads cheer for a division,
not a specific team. Head Coaches are given the
privilege of selecting the 2 nights they wish to
practice on since they are volunteering their time
and skills. Teams are formed based on a balance
formula of age, experience, and weight. Weight
only applies to tackle teams. Regional teams will
have players from that area assigned to that team and practice location, unless otherwise stated on
the registration form. Ex. If you live in Raleigh, but want to practice and play on a Cary team,
note that on the registration form in the appropriate box.
